One lesson that I learned from all of my CompTIA A+ study is that while PC hardware is interesting, it's not my specific cup of tea. I had high hopes that Networking (my brother's absolute favorite aspect of IT) would be more exciting. Once again I turned to Jason Dion and Professor Messer for guidance, and I was not disappointed. Routing, subnets, vlans, CIDR, and firewalls, oh, my! It was while studying for this exam that I realized IT is a field that can really hold my interest and is worth purusing.
I spent several hours a day for two months studying the Network+, and passing it definitely added a lot of momentum to my journey. Because of how enjoyable this part of my learning path was I am still very interested in networking and will pursue my AWS Advanced Networking Specialty certification in the near future.
If you're reading this and looking for some free video material to help you get started with your studies, please give Professor Messer and Jason Dion a chance. You will not regret it!
